    Hi,

I'm using the free option on those 3 tools, and I get VERY different results when ever I use the same check on different tool.

One shows 200+ backlinks for example while the other one shows around 80, one shows a anchor % of 50 the other 15%.

The things is the results vary a lot and its not balanced, every time its a different tool that says there are many many and another says there are few ( what I mean is I can't say that one is crawling slower than the others since the results are mixed).

So I'm looking to get some input from u guys, since I'm new in this business, which tool should I trust more? how is it possible that the results are so indecisive?

    Thanks!

It could be smaller because the links not longer exist is in fact more accurate by the way.

Personally go for OSE (open site explorer). I find it fairly accurate and well updated.

I've really got to like Ahrefs. I use it with OSE. But Ahrefs tend to show up new links quicker.

semrush. google tools are highly inaccurate. I have used the actual tools used @ google and the results are completely diff to the retail tools they give everyone else.

I prefer Open Site Explorer for the various metircs they provide. While their DB isn't as deep as some of the others, I think they do a much better job trying to evaluate the quality and importance of the links than the other guys do.

SEOMOZ copared to majstic loses hands down to me. Whichever URL I check I always get less URLs. Just try a large site you now ha tons of links and see for yourself in both sites. Feel their 99 bucks a month is a rip off that works for a lot of noobs. DId you see their featured webinars yet? Lol seo 101 at best. Then they do not have ny real tools , the onsite check is cap too. In my opinion just hyped up , good for them bad for you. If you want to use them go for raven as they aggregate moz + majestic.
Havent used ahrefs for a very long ime so dont know if they are any good now. At the beginnign tey were crap too. ALso question is how long until they can just catch up to majestic etc...?
Raven uses seomoz, semrush, majestic so maybe thats sth for you.

These three tools are really awesome but the free version is not good. Without any doubt the important parts that you really need to know is locked :p
Its disgusting. I am also searching a free tool for my clients. But still not getting one :(
