➡️ Ahrefs is nearing the completion of "their" own Search Engine ★★

Until there’s need to incentivise their creators anymore. :anyway:

Exactly .. unless it's a legal contract, it will only be a matter of time before they get greedy. Human Nature

However, I don't really care, I am ready to even block googlebot for any search engine that gets respectable share of visitors.

On the good side, Dmitry is the only one who can pull this off

This would be great! I am tired of Google and there foolishness!

I don't know how I feel about this. If their search becomes popular, people will try to game it.

Ahrefs right now provides a lot more data about a website and people will figure out what it values. This would lead to a more black box approach in their site explorer product, possibly coupled with higher subscription prices.

I'm optimistic about this one.
At least they're trying.

Good to see ahrefs and brave making efforts for an alternative search engine. Hope my site ranks on these at least...G only favors biggies......small sites have to wait at least 10 years to see some raniking.

They are acting as if their existing services are any cheap. Ahrefs tries to make as much as they can from their exisitng services while empathizing with the customers of their future competitors.

Great news! If anyone can compete Google, it has to be ahrefs. They have Millions (if not more) of sites in the db already. Looking forward to this one. :)

That's just exaggeration, mate
Well I have a site that is about five years old and it has about 90 pages of content all written by me (am not a good writer at all). I did not build backlinks or pbn, however after about 3 yrs one of my very low competition keyword started to rank on page one and it was bringing me some revenue from amazon. But then came algorithm updates and I don't see the page ranking anywhere. Now if I had an authority site with thousands of pages of content and backlinks then I could rank low competition keywords easily. To build that kind of authority it would take lots of killer content or time or backlinks.....but content =$ and backlinks=$. And if you don't have $ then it would take time, maybe 10 or 20 years to build that kind of authority for a small site. I am sure most new small site owners don't have enough capital initially or may have lost most of it on some shitty courses!

How will ahref bring people on their search engine to search there and not on chrome ?
I think this is the biggest challenge
