Ahrefs has doubled lots of KW's monthly searches

Did anyone else noticed this?

Lots of keywords monthly searches have been doubled by Ahrefs. The difficulty levels have also been changed.

This worries me a bit because Ahrefs already showed way too high monthly searches for terms that all other tools listed as two-three times lower.

Unfortunately I don't have subscriptions with other tools at the moment so I cannot cross-check this.

I noticed a sudden major (estimated) spike of traffic for my site.. only to realize that all the keywords have gone up and the traffic is exactly what it was before.

Something is up with that app lately... really poor performance across the platform.

Thoughts?

You mean for the Global search volume added or the US by default?
 
Wow.. This is interesting.. Honestly, i never TRUST 100% about Keyword's Monthly search from ANY KIND of Services. Just find the Keywords from the Suggestion, and cross check the KW difficulty Manually, then BINGO! Simple, but this is the True way to find proper Keyword(s). :)

Both.
Obviously I don't have the time to check this individually for each keyword but they did double it.

I had a keyword with monthly searches on Ahrefs for 41 K

Some time later it was 80 K

Today its 140 K

Its just an niche term like my other keywords.. no news or nothing that justifies the sudden rise.

Other tools say that the monthly searches are 25-30 K while Ahrefs adding 100 K out of the blue.

All keywords seem way too big there.

You can check with this trick and see if the rise is real or not.
 
Don't tell me Ahrefs is a 'booming industry':D
 
I took out the trial last week for 7 dollars and could not get access to the keywords. Looks like they stopped the keyword research on the trial.

Wait Whaaaatttt I was about to take the $7 trial this is sad, also their free tool tracker works fine at my end so could be a particular niche
 
Income school says they aren't accurate anyway. Do you find this to be the case? For example, before they doubled did your traffic match their estimated traffic for that keyword?

Yep, couldn't believe it. I use hrefs quite a bit on the trials, you get about 10 keywords free, then the rest it says upgrade to see them.
 
Maybe they updated your niche?

Sites I manage relatively stable, nothing changed much in recent months.
