40+ years old and just got it for the first time. Been 5 days now. Someone kill me. Juat look for the feverish, dizzy madwoman rolling around in a ball of blisters and pus and sweat. From my scalp to the soles of my feet I'm covered in blisters and bumps about to turn into blisters. Can't go out cause I'm contagious. Not that I want to go anywhere: I look like the Toxic Avenger. OMG. The only thing keeping me sane is reading about Smallpox and realizing it could be worse

Oh no! I'm so sorry to hear about that, my dad had chicken pox as an adult and I was a mean little child and laughed at him constantly. Now I look back and thank god karma can't strike me since I've already had it (that's not a dare, universe)!

Whenever I get sick, I get my favorite feel good series (Doctor Who please) and a thing of icecream and make a good moping spectacle on the couch. I'm not sure if I'd even attempt to do any IM work with chicken pox...

My sympathies, hope you get to feeling better soon!

So sorry to hear that. You should moneytize it quickly. Take some pictures of yourself, create a blog and post them there with a little SEO. Choose a related CPA offer maybe in medicine, aftercare or something like that. Be sure to make your story sound as pathetic as possible. After all of that, make some post on other related blogs and let us know when the money starts rolling in.

By the way I'm just kidding about all of this. I hope you feel better soon.

You have my sympathy, I know exactly how you feel.

I had them when I was 32. I honestly thought I was going to have to get better just to die!

They have this oatmeal-based stuff you can put in bathwater and soak in, it definitely helps with the itching. (Can't remember the name of the stuff, but your pharmacy can probably fix you up with it.)

Hope you have a speedy recovery.

If you cant find the oatmeal stuff, some baking soda in the bath water really helps. And calamine lotion.

I haven't seen the stuff in forever, but I will never forget the look/smell of calamine lotion. I got chicken pox about 4 times in total as a kid because I had a horribly weak immune system and I remember having basically baths in calamine lotion.

It works wonders... but you will feel so dirty and greasy. D: But the relief is worth it!

That sucks. Hope it passes soon. I had it as a kid and was stuck inside for two weeks.

    Don't forget Shingles.

Better knock on a lot of wood...

Thats the suck part about chicken pox, you can have them multiple times. I remember having them as a kid, and told the doctor as much. He told me, that if you don't get a bad enough case of them as a kid, your body doesn't develop the immunity to the virus, and you can keep getting them until you do. He told me he personally knew of one person who had had them 7 times!

I think I'm safe, he said I had the worst case he had seen in a while. So, take heart TapTapper, it sounds like this is the last time for you.
