I found a pretty good aged domain on godaddy auctions (about 12 years old) and it fits my keyword so I want to grab it, but I'm a little worried that it's not indexed in google.

Does this mean that it's banned/blacklisted or is it possible that it's just been inactive or parked for awhile? I've tried to do some background checks on the domain but it's absolutely nonexistant, no backlinks, no archive.org, no mention anywhere on the web, nothing...

    What do you guys think?

I do not see the point of getting a non indexed aged domain. This is probably because it was misused and therefore deindexed by the big G. In that case I recommend getting a brand new domain or some other aged domain which is indexed.

If it has no backlinks pointing to it and Google never found it, than Google will treat it as a brand new domain and won't give it any of the "aged" benefits. On the other hand, if Google did originally find it, but deindexed it due to violation of their TOS, than it also may have negative consequences.

Either way, I would never buy a nonindexed domain from the GoDaddy auctions unless you really want that particular domain name
