My profile backlinks are indexing at around 40%. I have each one pointing to one site. However, that site hasn't moved an inch since the backlinks have gotten indexed.

So, I guess the question is 2 part:
How long does it take from the point of a link being indexed to the point where the backlink's power is given to the money site?

And, how long typically does it take for yahoo site explorer to update the backlinks on a given site?

How many profiles are you talking about and how do you know that they are indexed?

How old are the links?

How old is your site?

There does not seem to be a hard and fast rule for when you get credit for your links. The newer the site and the newer the links the less good you will get from them right away. If your site is less than 3 months old I would not get too wrapped up in your ranking at this point. I would just keep building your links like you know you need to do. If you do that and your site is properly optimized the rankings will come.

What types of links are you building other than profile links? While they are pretty effective especially on low to moderate competition keywords you should add some other types as well.

Not sure about Yahoo, I have seen them show up within minutes and also take for what seems forever.

Profile links have some value, If you do it in low level sites, It won't help you. You need to get the authorized sites and make profile there to get a proper improvement in SERP. It's my personal experience. . It's working to me. .

Thanks

My guess (emphasis on guess) is that the links you have gotten are so new that they are PR0 or less right now. If so, they have very little juice of their own to pass on to your site even if they are indexed. It would be easy for you to check the PR of these links and validate this hypothesis.

Any new profile link will always be PR 0 or less still they works... Give them some time... Also they need to be on good authority site... Also check if they are not getting deleted after some times... May be new profiles are getting indexed and old ones are getting deleted....

Only profile links are not enough move to other promotion strategy also like directory submission, article directory, book marking, press release, blog commenting, blogs creation, link wheel, classifieds....

Lots of things and every one got their value (some less and some more)... You should try all, it will look natural and will have better ranking for your site...

100% true, All the profiles are newly created, But some will get indexed quickly, If it has good value you can see the improvement in SERP. But all sites have their own value in google. And you need to do create profile with care, only then it won't get deleted. . Thanks

Yes, you need to try various methods of link building techniques which will really help. Low level, medium level and high level link building techniques are there and it has their own values :)

Profile link need time to get index and acquire PR. It's also depend on the quality site where you made profile

Thanks for all the advice guys!

i just created about 900 with SENuke.... there are a lot indexed, but no change in the rankings as of the last 3-4 days.

should I backlink to the profiles to accelerate the process? my keywords are VERY low competition so i know there hasn't been a change at all. should i use blog commenting to backlink to the links?

what software do you guys suggest for keeping the profile links active? I hear sick submitter will auto login and click links on all of the profiles so they stay active... do you actually have to POST in order to keep them alive.

thanks in advance and thanks for all the great advice so far!
