For example I sell 2 laptops on ebay...then get paid by Paypal. I get the $ and do a transfer to my bank account. My paypal balance now shows $0.

1 or 2 weeks later, the buyer files a dispute to paypal and says he didnt receive the laptop, blah blah, tries to scam me....ya know, whatever! (I read lots of horror stories that end up the wrong way for sellers)

Now, since the money is already in my bank...can Paypal decide to take that money back from my bank and keep it frozen while investigating?? Or even worse, gives reason to the buyer and takes the $ out and refunds them??

Did something like this happen to anyone here or have you heard a story like this where they dig in your bank account?

your paypal goes too a negative balance i.e -$...... so whenever you get a payment..it gets deducted until the negative balance is gone

Shit happens...If you don't have any proof that you sent out the package (tracking #) then paypal might charge you back. If you sent the money to a checking account then its safe, not sure about the credit card. What I usually do is change my account detail and dump it, create a new one. Did it once and PP never contacted me. You might have to use a new account details when creating your next account tho.
You could also call ebay or pp service and explain what happened, that worked for me with a decent excuse.

Chances are, if you sell something on ebay your payment will get held unless you are a high ranked seller. In either case, this is an unlikely situation - You will either not recieve your laptop money until 21 days OR you will loose a valuable ebay/paypal account. Up to you.

Ok i will clear you from my experience. I have provided a service to a buyer in DP and get paid. I transferred my paypal balance to my bank account which i linked with my paypal account. I left only $23 and transferred whole amount to my bank account.

After a day, the buyer raised the dispute saying unauthorised transaction. I know he is scamming me. So my paypal balance went to negative. It happened 2 months ago and still i am having good balance in my bank account. paypal never touches my account.

Now i am using another bank account and another paypal account.

Conclusion: paypal never touch your bank account for chargeback. I have no idea about credit card.

I secind what big buddy has to say, it is illegal for them to try and acess your bank account. Further to that, a little point people don't know, paypal is not a registered financial company like a bank, which means they CANNNOT touch your credit file and at no point these transactions give you a negative credit mark on your file. They will make all the noises like they are, but in reality they can't do shit
