    Aloha guys,

I have some domains which were really hit hard by the google update. So right now they are useless for me.

can I just create some subdomains like new.xyz.com ? Will google treat it as completely new domains?
    you know what I mean.

Never done it myself but based on the fact that Google doesn't penalise the main Wordpress site for what people do to their subdomains (web 2.0 blogs) I would say yes, it's a viable option.

But that's the opposite to what he is asking for. Besides, if this was a viable option, then people could just redirect www, to non www ( or vice e verse) if they wanted to "de-penalize".

Still, I would say that go for it. You have nothing to lose anyway.

The example I gave was the opposite yes but I was using it to represent a two way relationship or rather the lack of a relationship between root and sub-domain. My thinking being, A (sub domain) doesn't effect B (root domain) therefore it's reasonable to assume B doesn't effect A.

one thing i discovered recently is that subdomains are not subject to this so called 'new websites sandbox'. I got weebly page ranked high in less than a month for a medium competition keyword 30k exact match.

While subdomains might be considered as separate website, i think they still carry root domain's age.
