i have been workin on a blog apart from all the things i have my fingers in..

    anyways
if i was wanting to promote a specific product.. how should i got about it?

    i mean..
should i link it like for example

    hxxp;//www.merchantdomain.com/product/1/productname/aff id

    ?
i tried it this way and it does redirect to the specific product.. and the link stays there with my aff id .. but would the sale still be noted as my refferal?

or is there another way to go about it?

If you want to use your blog then I would blog about the product and drive the traffic to the page where you blogged about the product and then use a call to action where they would click on the link that takes them to the affiliate to purchase. I use a redirect primarily for CPA offers.

yeh i understand that..thats wwhat im doing but the link on my blog wud redirect them to the merchant website instead of the merchant product..
i want them to be redirected to the merchant product page..and have it as my refferal rather then going to the merchants home page.. and then finding the product themselves.. if u kno wat i mean..

    ---
no wait i dun understand sorry..
i am the affiliate. and i am driving the traffic where i blog about this product.. and i provide a link for them to buy the product.. but my merchant provides the link that link to its homepage rather then individual product page .. and i want my traffic to be able to go to the product page when they click on the link and not the merchant homepage :S

Hi, if you are using an affiliate link provided by an affililiate network then you should get credit for the sale. Always use the link as provided by the affiliate network (Do not change a thing). You can ususally get these links to a specific product via a datafeed or a linkbuilder section in the affiliate programs control panel.

    Regards
