Affiliate programs tend to suck because people have to actually buy something, which requires expensive, competitive, targeted traffic. You can;t just send 1000 semi qualified visitors to an affiliate page and make money. And then there's the click fraud when doing adwords and ridiculously high bids.
So a better method is to create a website with decent paying adsense ads, some content, a nice logo & layout and then drive traffic to it. Then you get paid. It's that simple. The cool thing about adsense is the traffic doesn't have to be as good as affiliate traffic in order to get paid.

With affiliate you've probably painfully recall sending 100 visitors, getting 14 clicks , and zero conversion. With adsense those 14 clicks made me 14 bucks. And I get more traffic & clicks.

I've found that adsense has the lowest CTR on the pages of my site that generate the most affiliate sales. And when I've tested sctions of my site with and without adsense, I haven't been able to discern any difference in affiliate sales.
Certainly I'm earning far more with a combination of affiliate links and adsense than I ever did with affiliate links only. That's probably because I have an editorial site with diverse content: Because many of my pages don't have related affiliate links, adsense lets me monetize subtopics that normally wouldn't produce revenues on their own.

It depends on your website/strategy, if you're targeting small niches/keywords, expecting to get targeted traffic.. then affiliate will convert much better, but for news or broad niches websites adsense will be just good..

If you tailor the affiliate offers to your website, you'll come out on top...

Remember, with Adsense, people are paying you an advertising fee to make money off of your site...I always prefer to have a more 'hands on' approach...where Im advertising on my own site, ya know?

Either way, you can make bank

Also keep in mind that the Adsense CPC is different in every niche.

Depends on the niche. Sometimes AdSense is better than affiliate offers, sometimes it isn't. If you have a blog on "oil filters", for example, good luck finding an affiliate program for that!

If you are trying to sell an affiliate product, generally adsense is counterproductive. It sends people AWAY from your website.

But it does matter. If your adsense traffic doesn't convert on the backend then you get smart priced. No one pays for shit traffic longterm

My view is that adsense is better than affiliate marketing as here is small money but that is assured.

Affiliate marketing is better for advertisers and also more income compared to adsense for affiliates also
if you get 1000 clicks for US$ 10 and you get 10 leads for US$ 40 in same traffic ,you can decide which one is better
Affiliate marketing is better if you have "genuine traffic"
