Affiliate Revenue Question

Hi everyone, I joined yesterday and im a noob in BHW. But i've been working hard and reading tons and tons of articles to absorb all these valuable information. To start things off, I created a blogger account, got some written and generated content and now I am waiting for the activation of my Adsense account. Now i understand that adsense, people click, i earn revenue in adsense and google gives me a check. But what happens to affiliate programs? Do i fill out the forms truthfully and if i manage to post affliates' posting, people click/signup/buy online and I make $, where does the money go? Do i have to sign up for another thing?
