Hey guys, I'm wondering if someone could please clarify something for me when it comes to doing affiliate marketing with Google places. Right now I'm looking at some fairly competitive keywords which I won't even consider implementing SEO on because it will be a waste of time with the competitiveness of the keywords. However, because of this I'm thinking a Google places listing would be optimal. I have read a bit of information on Google places and affiliate marketing on BHW, which has raised a few questions for me, and I appreciate any clarification when it comes to using an address, could someone explain how this works? I am unsure because Google places doesn't allow for a PO box address, you actually need a proper location. If I am wanting to rank a Google places for a a keyword that is not specific to my location then how can I go about sourcing a location, and if I do find the location then it will ultimately appear in the Google map, which if it's another business location could be really bad? I guess I am not quite sure how to go about faking a Google places listing when it seems that things need to be fairly legitimate. It is not to say though that an affiliate website is not a legitimate business, but I do not know how to go about the address side of things. Thanks for any help on this.
