I have to agree that affiliate marketing IS NOT FOR EVERYONE. If you cant motivate yourself to succeed in these shark infested waters youre going to waste a whole lot of time doing nothing. I think a lot of members on this forum arent cut out for it and theyd be doing themselves a favor to look over how long theyve been here and how much theyre making now to see if this is really where they belong.

I think if i have 50 sites making $1-3 a day...I should do reasonable. Even with 50 sites at $1, that should bring in decent $$$. In my country I get $2 for each US $1...so $100 ($50US) a day isn't bad at all

What exactly do you mean when you say that in your contry you get $2 for each US $1 ? I can't seem to understand how you can get $2 (dollars) for each 1 US dollar ? So in your contry you currency is still in $ dollars ? or is it other currency with the 0.5 conversion rate ?

Sorry it could be my way off speaking, in my country one US dollar is equivalent to two of our dollars. Hope that clears it up for you

Affiliate marketing is extremely oversaturated right now. When I got into the game 11 or 12 years ago I was able to make a killing with minimal coding experience.

It's kind of a shame, because I was able to go right in, spend minimal time and money and make huge profits. People are frustrated now because they're losing or breaking even.

What a lot of people don't realize is that online marketing is still a huge growth industry. I moved on to doing lead generation for clients years ago and if you can break even with an affiliate program, you can make good money by cutting out the middleman and working directly for a company. I was doing mortgage, insurance, hedge funds, brokerages, all that sort of thing and if you promote any of those programs you'd be shocked how much they're actually willing to spend per lead as long as those leads convert.

So I agree, it's not for everyone and it's really not for most people, but if you can learn online marketing, SEO, campaign tracking, analytics you can still make a nice living working as a consultant. Even shoemoney had a blog post a while back about how he just went out and approached local businesses to do lead generation and made a killing. And he's the king of no salesy social interaction automated schemes.

Just keep trying different methods until you find something that works for you. If you spend long enough experimenting and testing you will surely stumble across a niche/method that you can make money from. I went through 5 months of doing different stuff before i started making any meaningful amounts of money. During those 5 months I was close to giving up countless of times. Even though now im not making much, I have found something that I can scale up and put all my effort into so I am really thankful I didn't give up.

Internet/affiliate marketing may not be for everyone but the fact that you are a web designer/developer puts you in a better position than most people to make money online. And don't worry if you think you suck at marketing, you can learn how to market by learning from the pros.

A good place to start looking is Ezine articles. Look for authors who have published loads (1000's) of articles and try and figure out what they are doing. The chances are that if they are writing that many articles about a particular topic they are making some money from it.

Good Luck!

I'm about to enter Affiliate marketing, powered by Youtube. I'm going to bullshit, exaggerate, and every trick in the book - and that's how I'll be making money. I can't fail.
