Adwords Keyword Tool Old Interface vs New Interface

The adwords keyword tool gives you two completely different sets of data based on what interface you choose, which is throwing me off a lot. Which do you think is more accurate?

I use the new one since it suggests more keywords. And double check the keyword I'm interested in with old interface. I personally think that the old version is more accurate.

But the figures are way different. One keyword Im looking at shows 10x more searches on the old interface than the new one. Both have been set to "exact" as well. Some keywords have had an even bigger gap.

Well if that's the case, you know its somewhere between those 2 numbers.

I didnt even know you could still access the old one. I will try now though.

I had to check it again like 4-7 days later & it reported 4,400 searches a month. Thats a pretty big difference.

I think the new interface might be a bit more accurate. For example something like "baseball gloves" gets 550k searches monthly according to the old interface, but only 12.1k according to the new. I doubt 550,000 people are really searching for baseball gloves a month.

So I went to the old KW tool and did a search. Sure enough, it says the KW gets 18k searches a month. Like the NEW KW tool did the first time.

SO in my opinion, the old one is accurate. Why would the new one report 18k & then 4-7 days later report 4,400 searches if there werent a glitch of some sort?
Like I said the old one, reported 18k searches.

Also, there is a difference in competition as well. Old one has the comp bar all the way full & the new KW tool has it 75% of the way full.

WTF google? Are we too busy taking over the world?

I am using google insight,for me is much more accurate than the google keyword tool.

i always like the old interface because its user freiendly

If anyone else is doing KW research & you get it a chance you might cross reference w/ the old & new tools & report back.

I have reported my results, if we get a few more people we can get a better idea of which tool is more accurate.

1 for old tool.

The new changes number quite often.Apart from that, the difference between the old and the new is quite large.

I get 300k exact searches from old and 500 from new. The new used to give 300k some days ago too. I havent promoted and ranked this keyword so i cant actually say but wtf...

I suppose that the only two ways to get the number of searches might be :

1.rank the word
2. run adword campaign

Sounds like my experience. SO is thats 2 for old.

Try to give up using the OLD one. New KWT is better and is giving more accurate stats.
