Hi Guys -

For those who use adwords, what is your favorite bid strategy, where controlling daily budget is a deciding factor?

  • Maximize clicks
  • Maximize conversions
  • Target search page location
  • Target outranking share
  • Enhanced CPC
  • Target impression share

Account in reveiw

If its a display campaign ,wait another 24hours for USA accounts

If its a search campaign wait ,wait 6 hours after approval to see impressions

If you don't see any

Then know that account is in review

Start preparing another account as the current one may get banned
I have issues on this.. Ads get approved but no clicks

Hello AdWords Black Hat,

Please share the expert opinion about when to change ad copy in Ad Copies?

If the method works then I will give that person 3 dummy approved accounts....

I've gone away from Automatic bidding and primarily use manual bidding. We've done tests in the past on which bidding strategy works best and found that manual bidding provided us the best results with the lowest CPC and highest conversion.

Manual CPC is the way to go if you want to stretch you're Google Ads budget.

does your strategy change if your competitors are also running adwords?

you need to read hard to really understand adsence bidding.

research usually helps with google trends and manually setting CPC only

auto CPC for wannabes

try bing a lot cheaper or FB

everybody use there owns strategy to win on adsence.

deep keyword research

I totally agree. I have sometimes saved up to 80%. choosing manual CPC
in automatic mode, you make sure you get more clicks and faster, but it's much more expensive.

All the smart bidding strategies are good when you have a big budget. Manual CPC and Max clicks are the ones I'd choose if I was to start a new campaign or if I had a low budget. From there you can work yourself up and eventually change your bid strategy if you get enough data.

I started with manual cpc but it gave less clicks and my impression share was also less , after that i'm using maximize click with bid cap.
for me the deciding factor was impression share and outrank %.

Manual CPC is the strategy which i choose but after sometime you have to change the strategy as constant strategy would not work and after taht i choose maximize clicks.

By strategy do you mean bidding strategy? My bidding strategy typically doesn't change whether competitors are running ads as there are always competitors running ads. Normally I would start with automated bidding just to get an idea of how much it would cost to get in a certain position. I would run this for around 2-3 days. After knowing that benchmark, I switch to Manual Bidding and control bids on a keyword level.

It truly depends on what your goal is. If you want to accelerate growth, be prepared to spend $ and get in position 1-2 every time.

If the goal is getting the most of your budget, then position 2-4 is where you want to be.
