Hi folks I need some advice here so thought I would post in here for people who are currently using eBay. I used to do quite well on ebay a few years back but one bad month fucked me, and I just gave up. I had a 5k load of replica Nike stopped and destroyed by customs and in the same week paypal limited my account, so I just said fuck it and dropped out. I am getting back into ebay, But I have been out of the loop for a while so I am wondering what's what. I have a fully verified moneybookers account and can easily set up a verified paypal account. I am wondering, what are the advantages of using money bookers on eBay, and the disadvantages. (from those currently in the know) I know paypal is the buyer's choice on ebay but I am wondering if moneybookers would be ok to use. or maybe I should get a merchant account. Not sure merchant account would work because I plan on creating 5 ebay accounts and only selling 5 items per account per week in the early stages. ( for what I will selling this should net 5k a week) Just wondering what I should do? Read somewhere on here recently about an ebook that walks you through the setting up of stealth accounts, can't remember the name of it right now but I am considering getting this. Anyway, paypal, moneybookers or what? I don't want paypal closing down my accounts, I will be selling replicas and want to spread my risk.
paypal are pretty quick off the mark on new accounts and replicas at the moment if you are US then moneybookers would work , although I am not sure of the uptake with consumers
What makes PayPal good and bad for selling replicas: You don't have to submit your actual information to PayPal, thus information is not always tracked back to you. Easy to pull money out, especially when you get the PayPal debit card (Are they still doing this? I haven't applied for one in like a year) - providing you know how to do so safely. Everybody on eBay uses PayPal and are comfortable with it. Whats bad about it is, it's not solid. You absolutely can not build a solid business using PayPal as your payment solution. This would be like trying to build a 6 lane highway that crosses over a bridge made with sticks and mud. Works for a while, you might be lucky, but it will all collapse and everything will be taken downstream. With a merchant account, things are much more solid but is often much harder to create accounts to accept money for things like replicas as things can always easily be traced back to you.
Thanks for the info, Just wondering have you read the auction stealth book ? and where is a good (easy) place to get a merchant account ?
I thought anyone using moneybookers had to first register an account, it was like this a few years ago anyway. People would first need to verify an account before being able to pay for thier goods. But now it seems things have changed with money bookers. Why choose Moneybookers instead of our competitors No sign-up required for buyers: They can pay right away Funds are settled directly into your bank account More cost-effective than our competitors, highest security and service level Benefit from Moneybookers' international brand recognition For intl. sellers - more than 80 local payment options on top of credit cards All your refunds are free It might just be an option. EDITED It seems you have to offer paypal as an option. Policy eBay requires all sellers listing on eBay.co.uk and eBay.ie to accept PayPal in their listings with the exception of listings in the categories of cars, motorcycles, aircraft, boats, caravans, trailers, trucks (commercials), services and property categories. Sellers listing on eBay.ie are currently exempt from this requirement, but must offer PayPal in their listings if they wish them to appear in search on eBay.co.uk or eBay.ie. In most cases, other additional payments options, which are currently permitted onsite, may also be provided. Sellers who list in certain categories or transactions may additionally be required to offer PayPal as the only payment method offered on a listing, and this will be messaged accordingly within the listing flows.
Paypal is Fu*king holding my 100 usd and reversed my payment from namecheap and name cheap wants me to pay 150 USD is refund fee or they will cancel my account: any solution to get money back from paypal?
that was hilarious, "give paypal a call" This is how your converstaion will go with paypal. you: hi my money is being frozen and i dont know why? Paypal: We need to verify your identity and your suppliers. you: what do i need to send in? paypal: send a copy of your social security card, your drivers license, birth certificate, copy of your utility bills, bank statements, supplier details, a DNA sample, and a pair socks from last week with your name on it. you: but i dont know i f that is safe for me to do. Paypal: sure it is safe, we are a highly reputable company, just make it attention to Shanaynay watkins, in the interest collection department, and i will make sure we rview your information right away. you: ok i sent you all the information needed. paypal: ok great, let me see if i can find it, ohh here it is i found it, the janitor was using it to wipe off the windows last night, but dont worry it is still readable, i will look it over for the next 160 days and get back to you with a decision. you: WHAT!! are you kidding me 160 dayds!! Paypal: yes this is our normal procedure, thank you for being a valued customer goodbye. point of the story is paypal is a bunch of criminals. google "aspkin" and edjucate yourself on how to do business with paypal safely, well as safely as possible.
LOL, I know paypal are a bunch of twats, I just didn't know what to say to the guy. Thanks for the highlighted part above, looking into it.
I've moved thousands of pounds through paypal and never had a problem, though my business is legit. I'm glad paypal shuts people who sells replicas down. You shouldn't try to pass off products as being part of a brand when they are not, even if the quality is good, you're just contributing to making the world a shit place to live.
If you're using PayPal without eBay, you'll find PayPal much easier to work with. Now add eBay into the mix and that's when you'll start having problems.
IMHO paypal works the best with ebay customers but the problem (even more big problem with replicas) comes with paypal limitation, disputes and stuff alike so I suggest you to being payed with paypal by ebay customers and the find a well known "money-switcher" with a good reputation and "transfer" the money to your moneybookers account every 100 bucks so the money will flow and even if you got fu*ked by paypal you will not risk to loose big bucks. I`m personally doing so and it works like charm.
