Hi all, been a lurker on BHW for some time, so this is my first post. Have a few niche site but looking to make a amazon affiliate site. I have found a gnarly niche but it would require me to use the brand name in there. This would include the brand name plus 2 other words in the domain.

Is it ok that i use a disclaimer saying I'm not affiliated with the brand or is it now worth the risk?

    thanks for any replys

Don't do it. You will be banned by Amazon.

I would advise against using trademarked brand names in your website. Try to keep things general and focus on the needs of customers.

    It's not worth the risk.
I have plenty of domains and know first hand that no one wants you to use their brand names in domains.

It's not that important though, is it?

Amazon affiliate with the brand and would be very risky baned.

Such as: your domain for example amazonkill.com
Then you will be banned quickly.
    According to my experience

Not a good idea. Not every brand take action against this kinda thing but if you end up out rank them or they feel you are getting unfair profits then they report you to Amazon and you will get kicked out of system. Best way to do it is domainname.com/Brand/

Thanks for all the responses! It seems to be the general consensus that this is not recommended. Playing devils advocate here, but what if your were to say I'm very passionate about this product (which i actually am) and state that no affiliation is associated with the brand?

I did this a while back for ebay... did Edhardy-Clothing.com knock off site and one for Armney exchange as well.
I copied a bit of the design from the official pages then linked directly to the eBay auctions that updated each day with new auctions for those clothing lines.

The sites did rank and for about 4 months it was great. Then well, Edhardy and Armney set me legal letters saying I was infringing on the brand and seized my domain name.
So... their is that. Besides getting booted from Amazon for TOS violations, you could also get a nice letter from that brand and they will take your domain name.

lol.. but .. this is Black Hat World.. not White hat world.. Live fast, die young. ;)

It doesn't matter what disclaimers you make - if Amazon catch you they will ban you and take whatever money is in your account at the time. Couldn't just use the product name in the domain without the brand name? You really don't need the brand name in the domain to rank for it.
