    Hi guys,

I used to run my own free niche dating site but got tired of the maintenance and constant barrage of emails. The script was also limited and I was too busy working on other projects to put the work in on this site. So I decided a few months ago to take down the site and convert to an affiliate site.

The single focus for the website now is to drive visitors to sign up at a dating affiliate site. I get paid for each sign up - around $4. If they become full members I get paid over $100. I have zero admin to do and can just focus on getting more sales.

Originally I had a fairly complex website up but used the Register button as my push to get affiliates. When they tried to register on my site thinking it was to join my dating site they would be pushed to my affiliate. This strategy worked but I was sure I could improve conversions.

So....I have now stripped my site down to a Bare Bones HTML page removing all the clutter and simply having a Single Button ( Call to Action ) visible that I want visitors to push to reach the Affiliate Sign Up Page. No other side bars or menu's now exist. I did this so the user would not be distracted and click elsewhere. I am testing this as we speak and have noticed an increase in sign ups. Only problem is my site looks fairly basic now. I am still not sure if this is the best strategy..

What I want to ask you guys is what design do you prefer for your Affiliate Website if you are just pushing for Dating Sign Ups. I dont want members to hang around, I just want sign ups and to rinse and repeat. Do you create a full on website or implement a basic landing page like I have or would you just use the landing page for Adwords Campaigns and make a full on blog as the main site with blog articles pushing the sign up. I know google loves wordpress.

Im curious as to what strategies people prefer for their affiliate sales website.

Maybe I'[m not totally understanding but my stuff just redirects. Why don't you just do that and eliminate any extra work needed on your part?

At the end of the day, it's all about conversions. It doesn't matter if it looks basic - if it works, it works. However, you never want to stop split testing and optimizing.

On the other hand, instead of sending your visitors straight to your offer, I would put them through a squeeze page first so that you have control over your customer information. Then you would be able to market to them through verticals and similar offers, and make substantially more money. Start building your list immediately.

CuteZippers If I auto-redirect Im sure that the search engines would punish my site. I want my site to look like a real dating site. I am link building and pushing the website higher in the search engines daily. I am on page 1 for some keywords but targeting others in my niche.

InfinityAI - Yes good point regarding building a list via this page. Maybe I should offer the free sign up but have them sign an Opt-In list first then redirect to signup page. Or maybe use an incentive like a free dating ebook.

Stripping the page to a single HTML page with only one button should hopefully drive more sign ups. I will be monitoring over the next few weeks.

I find that if the page is cluttered it loses me affiliate sales as the users sometimes click on banner adverts, adsense adverts or loses interest losing me sales.
