I'm having a hard time deciding which of my sites I should invest this month's marketing budget on.

One is a site I've had for a couple years that sells an affiliate product. It has 5 pages of high quality unique content, and I've thrown various cheap backlinks at it over the years for a multitude of keywords (although I only recently became more knowledgeable about how to choose good keywords). It ranks for a couple keywords, but not many. It earns me about $200/month from affiliate sales.

My other site is brand new, doesnt have any content yet and isnt even set up. I intend for it to mostly earn from Adsense. The domain consists of a keyword that gets 4000 exact local searches and has a cpc of $9. The top ten sites would take at least a few months of backlinking to beat.

The backlinking plans I want to use are two services that are found here on BHW. They are: Seo Shark (the Tiger Plan) and Speed Rank (the small plan).

I can only afford to purchase backlinks for one of the sites....

So, would I be better off using putting backlinks towards my affiliate site to rank for better keywords, or should I use the money to build the new Adsense site (adding content, hosting, etc) and use whatever's left to put some quality backlinks towards it (probably with the Seo Shark tiger plan)?

    Just looking for opinions. :)

Well for your affiliate site, you should spend the $200 that it earns to try and naturally build the site with the potential that it provides. Then just dedicate time and effort into the other one and any spare money you have but just take that project slowly, especially as it is a new site.

I am not a big fan of Adsense, so I would certainly concentrate on the former option, seems to already be pretty established and have a lot of potential.
