Hello to all,

So i am planning to start/jump into blogging about a particular niche/topic that interests me. I read many different blogs/websites and now i'm one step away from starting it. I have only few (newbee) questions regarding that:

- As a new blogger, would you start on a free platform (blogger/wordpress.com) or would you pay for the domain/hosting? I'm willing to spend money for the hosting/domain, but i always test first before i burn my money on it, thus that is why i'm asking this.
- How would you gain traffic if you were in my place(first blog)? Would you focus mostly on social media traffic(Facebook, Twitter etc.) or seo(ranking the blog for certain keywords)?
- And lastly, can you recommend some tools that can help the new blogger? It can be about anything, from writing(grammar) correction tools to different page tools/widgets, and even wordpress themes. Paid or free does not matter.

Thanks in advance.

1. First try with blogger. Blogger is user friendly.
2. Traffic: Give quality of content, social media signals, ppc, etc...

Tools:
1. Wordai and TheBestSpinner- The best content spinner.
2. TRY parallax themes.
3. Submit your website to Google: https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/submit-url
4. Adsense Simulator: https://tools.digitalpoint.com/adsense-sandbox
5. Grammar correction site : gingersoftware and MS office word.
6. How to stop negative seo: Google web master tool, Google alert.
7. Multi rank checker: iwebtool (Google page rank, alexa rating)

AS a new blogger you have to pay for the domain because free domains does not has much value like paid domains also the paid domain has some individuality than the free domains,
If you want to increase the traffic to your blog you should post content on you blog gradually like weekly two or 3 content and your content should related to your blog and might be informative because content is the most important factor to drive traffic to your blog.
mainly you need to contribute on social medias that helps a lot to drive traffic to your blog and you can get many free and paid plugins for your blog to share your post from your blog to social medias. and you can go with "grammarly" plugin for grammar checker.it helps you to write content without any grammatical mistake and spelling mistakes. here I have listed few link for widgets that makes your blogs good.

In my opinion, as a new blogger with no audience, the best possible thing you can do will be posting on other peoples blogs, not your own.

As a first time Blogger i would command you to go with Free platform.
Promote it by social media and also do SEO Both are important to Get traffic :)

Yes, start with something free. You don't want to commit, without knowing whether or not you'll succeed or follow through. Start by adding good content. Add as much content as possible, but make sure it is good. If you're worried about your grammar, you should use Microsoft Word. Otherwise, maybe send your Blog posts to social media with a free tool?

Free blogs can also be submited to Google Webmasters? Thanks for input.

Yes, but i always test before i jump into something, that's why i also want to test this first before buying the domain. Content won't be problem, i will start slowly at first and afterwards i will increase the amount a little as time passes by. Thanks for the input.

In my opinion, as a new blogger with no audience, the best possible thing you can do will be posting on other peoples blogs, not your own.

I will consider this, although i think it's better to first start on my own blog, and then guest post others. More input on experiences with this would be great. And thanks for the input.

Start with Blogger and promote it in social network

Thanks for the input, although i'm thinking about Wordpress more.

The content won't be the problem. Grammar also won't be a problem, though some checking tool can be accepted since i'm not a native English and we all do mistakes, don't we? About social media, yes, i will probably push posts there and focus on that traffic first. If it turns out to be ok, i will buy domain/hosting and afterwards focus on seo. Thanks for the input.

That's fine. But i think its not a big deal to do something like buying the domain because PBN is much better.
well you can try the first one.

First of all, I highly recommend practicing on a free blog service like blogger or wordpress just to get the hang of things. Secondly, I would focus mostly on social media traffic, but I'd also do a lot of work with keywords. Basically do as much as you can together.

There is thousands blog which will tell each and every small info about blogging Just start reading them Like Problogger, Shoutmeloud etc.

The best suggestion for newbie that you can easily start your journey.
Good Luck twist13

Free platforms can utilise a private domain name, so if you want to start off all free and find you like it you can add your domain name later.

That being said free platforms have their issues.

Social media is a good way of boosting traffic. Back in the day when blogging was my thing, a social media post would give me a 20 -25 % boost to traffic, with the search engines providing a good steady baseline.

-first is you have to make a free account on any free blogger site like Blogspot
-to gain traffic, post the link on your social medias or any website that has a very big traffic.
-before you post it, you can type your blogs in Microsoft word, for auto check.

thanks..

I will start free. If it turns out great, gonna go paid.

Ye, i will start with wordpress. I have developed an easy plan that will be filled with many to-dos for this project, focusing on almost every aspect for it.

I actually didn't knew about these blogs. Thanks man, it will really help me!

I will start free now, to see how the tide will go. If it turns out ok, i will take domain and hosting and continue my project. As for the traffic, i think i will focus first on some basing seo and parallel with that on social media. I think i will give social media a boost because it's some of the most engaging traffic, at least for my niche. Thanks.

Btw, if you have any other usefull tools that were not mentioned above that can help me, do recommend them. It will not just help me, but for everyone that is in the same position as i am.

1. Think about content. You should put great content so visitors will continue to come in.

2. Good design will attract first time visitors to stay longer.

3. Keep it updated. If someone return to your blog and didn't see any updates then that someone might not return again.

The content i'm gonna write about is something that interests me the most, so i think i will not have any problems with the quality of the content. I'm going to keep it updated it 2-5 times a week.
Since it will be based for now on a free Wordpress, i will pick a theme that will be displayed great for any device and easy to read.

As a new blogger you should start with free website like Blogger or Blogspot. There is no problem with Blogger o Blogspot. You can get Adsense. It is true that social media sites are big platform for getting traffic on your site. So at the starting do some SEO and keep promoting your site on Social media sites.

buy new domain and hosting and start your blog on wordpress base.
And publish your links on social media - it will help you to increase traffic on ur site.
