    Hi everyone!
I have my blog in DIY and home decor niche for a couple of years now.

    17 articles
150 visits a day (about 40% google, 50% pinterest and the rest from FB groups or other blogs)

    Plus:

    IG with 4000 followers
    Pinterest with 1.5m monthly view
YouTube with some unprofessional time lapse videos.

I'm looking for the most passive way to get income.
Being an influencer is not my thing.

I started adding some affiliate links from Aliexpress as I launched the blog, up until today I've earned less then $100.
I've decided to apply to Google adsense last week but didn't get approval yet (is it normal?)

Reading this blog I realize I must write at least 50 more articles. Correct?

I would appreciate any kind of advice.

Also, how can I easily grow my Instagram followers? I'm aiming for real followers so I prefer not buying them.
I do all "by the book" posting, adding hashtags, uplouad stories, engage with other instagrammers but it feels like I only get less and less likes.

    Have a great weekend!

150 visits a day won't lead to much income from Adsense anyways. Get your traffic up. No use wasting time optimizing monetization when your traffic isn't significant yet.

    Thanks @macdonjo3
    What should I aim for?
    And how to do it?
Should I focus on writing more blog posts?
    I use yoast for SEO

Traffic from Google is going to be of higher OCI than your Pinterest traffic so yes. Focus on expanding articles and writing more. Get to like 500-1000 visits a day then start thinking about it. Adsense is fine for when you don't have any better ideas. Depends on what your specific niche is, the best monetization idea will differ.

Would be really interested in the results given by it
It should take 2-4 weeks (sometimes more), you will be approved if you have enough content!

    2 years or so..
But I have to admit I didn't promote at all these posts. I just posted them and that's all.
I got orders only when I actually started sharing the post with the affiliate links on FB and IG stories.

Yes, you should write more articles, sign up in CPA networks, and get profit. Use AdSense as your last choice.

    Agree with @macdonjo3.

Focus on the best pages and posts, maybe 5 of them. Do organic optimization and try to rank well for some of the key terms.

Also since you have a decent following in IG, perhaps you can try doing some paid shoutouts (that's not buying followers) targeting the highest converting page/product and how the conversion works.

    Thank you @sbsgratt

Forgive me for my ignorance but how should I do the organic optimization?
I use the free yoast plugin, the lights are green

I looked in google suggestions and added some of the searched phrases into the posts.

    What else should I do?

And regarding the shootout can you please elaborate? I am not familiar with the term

    Thanks a lot!

CPA is an acronym for Cost per Action and refers to "ads" that are sold on the basis that money is only given when a certain action occurs because of the ad. A CPA ad could be one in which a publisher gets paid for people that click thru an ad and sign up for a newsletter or enter a contest or fill out a form for more information on a product. Many consider direct sales or Cost Per Sale ads, and CPC ads to also be a form of CPA. But CPA usually refers to being paid for leads, sign ups, and so on.

Absence will be a good headsup. Keep posting content. It is the most important part. Meanwhile, learn about keywords and start keyword researching.

    Thanks.

I think I'm good with the basics.
I've learned it when I just started.

    Hopefully I'm not too naive.
Guess I have no choice but sitting down and writing. :)

Work on traffic. Aim for 2K+ visitors per day and you should be able to convert well with Adsense.

4,500 visitors a month with only 17 articles is quite good. You should start writing more and you will get more visitors. When you reach 10k visitors/month you can try applying at Ezoic or Mediavine because their rates are better than Adsense.

17 articles in a couple of years is not a lot -> you should look at adding at least 1000 - 2000 words a week -> it's not that hard, generally just a couple of hours work - do that and follow the other suggestions and you will have 69 articles by the end of the next year all of decent length and lots of long-tail keywords.

If you can spend 4-6 hours per week, write 2 articles each week - there are a bazillion topics in home improvement and with people now stuck at home and doing lots of self-renovation, now is the time to get content out there!

Yes more the merrier. Add more content to your blog. meanwhile, grow your social media platforms as well. Run some ads and see how it turns out. You will have to spend more time on growing them to get ahead of the game.

You are absolutely right.. That's why I decided to go on to the next step. My blog started as a hobby.. I wuld really love to actually make some money out of it.

What do you mean? How do I get them?

    What kind of ads?

I'm sorry for all the questions, I guess some of the terms you use are really basic, but I have a huge gap of knowledge here.
