I need to present some strengths and weaknesses of competitor websites in my niche to 3/4 people who may or not have knowledge on SEO.

For example I have a list of 5 main competitors in my niche, in terms of competing keywords, I need to explain their main strengths and weaknesses.

If you had to choose 2/3 easy to understand metrics/points to explain what would you choose? This is to basically explain then why I can beat them in terms of SEO/content etc. in a way that anybody could understand.

Any help would be much appreciated. This is for a business plan.

Easy to understand points: Search Intent, length of content, number of backlinks and referring domains, and without going into details you explain that there is a way to organize a page to be well optimized for search engines and you mark if it is good or not.

Can i ask you for local SEO like breakfast restaurant, car repairs that are about to open. if we stay with the example mentionned by holzz where they are 5 main local competitors, what will be the easy to understand points ?

For local SEO I would say :
Local Link Building
Title Tags with local Keyword
Embed Google Maps
Google My Business Listing

Review Signals

+ normal SEO

There are many SEO audit services that can provide you with a detailed pdf report. Google it

Yes, I am well aware of audits. That's not what I asked. I've been in the SEO game a few years now but never needed to explain it to people with little to no SEO knowledge. My question was what sorts of metrics would be good to include to compare websites that people could understand without any background knowledge on SEO.

When I have such clients I create a sheet and try to explain the benefits of my seo in a way that he can understend it. Just start a blank page and start to write. The right words will come out. Dont use words like H1 H2 etc. Being simple is the key (my own opinion)
Example:

When I do X it will give you C and it will help you to get XYZ . Simple as that

I would go for fundamentals like Search volume, Search intent, Referring Domains,

A lot of points about refering domains and back links. Both confirm what I was thinking. I think it's one of the easiest metrics to explain that's for sure.

I'm thinking content length/quality, RD and perhaps basic on page optimization.
