Hey guys, thanks for reading this. I am using a throwaway for a good reason I hope that is not an issue for this community.

(This is based on pure White hat practices only)

This is a screenshot is of the 2 months since I started in comparison to the 2 previous months. To me,these results are great but I am not sure if 2 months is enough time. I feel like at least 3 months is reasonable especially if i can repeat these results for a 3rd month. At the same time I dont want to feel like I am being taken advantage of and maybe these results are not enough.

I wanted to know what do you guys think and what would recommend or share your experience please.

depends on how much you charge. if you charge 100$ per month, then ask for a raise, when you already ask for 20k$, then don't

depends how much you're paid VS. how much more money you are making them. If you are paid few hundred bucks and that raise in traffic made them tens of thousands then ofc you can ask for more

Definitely worth a raise. Your tone doesn't seem so much confident, a wild uneducated guess would make me say you're not well paid.

His tracking shows an improvement of around $90,000 in sales, as far as I can see it, how far this is all from your SEO, can't be said.

After 3 months stop everything completely and show these results to them and say if you want to keep this up your next contract will be 20% higher.

I am not doing any contract I added an edit to better clarify my situation. I am not doing it over contract, just a regular 9-5 to do seo. pays less than $20 hourly.

Edit : okay let me clarify so we can be on the same page here, I have been working at the company for about 4 years now, I was hired to do SEO only : 6 months after I started,my boss wanted me to become a programmer instead and it paid better so I did...long story short the person that was doing all the work left us and I was asked to get back to doing what I was hired to do in the first place. Salary is still the same as it was when I was programming(which I ddint mind 2 months ago). I quote, my boss said " If you prove to make a difference for us organically we will pay you more" and now I am wondering if this is proof enough or should I keep hustling for another month or 2 and make it a triple kill.

If you can attribute a $90,000 increase (a month?) in sales to your work which it looks like it is, I would be asking for like $30-$40 an hour at least. If you were working as an agency you could charge a fortune for services that delivered those kinds of results. Back it up with tracking of ranking improvements, and CTR in Google Console.

Definitely ask for a raise, there's not really a risk to it.

You need to be more confident. With the results that you are achieving they should give you more value. If not, you can easily find who will pay you more.

No offense but if everyone wanna get a raise for doing his job properly...

You are the only one, who can decide if you deserve it.

I have a lot of screenshots, written notes of the changes I planned to make and when I did them too. As a matter of fact the most work I have done is rewording the meta and page title to improve CTR and this is the result. I still have a lot more work to do after auditing the site, we should be averaging at least 10k a day ( based on the niche and competition) and we are no where near that. We have a 10 year old domain with tons of do follow links pointing at it too.

Sadly in my experience they won't understand (or will pretend not to understand) the value of what you're doing and will expect the best champagne at lemonade prices.

I've just lost 1 client who I had worked with for 3 or 4 years - in the last 18 months I've increased his sales by 250% to over £300KGBP per month - and he was complaining about paying me £1500 per month - he wanted to reduce it to £1K, while I was expecting to increase what he paid me to 2.5K - £3K.

End result - he got in a sulk and has gone back to hiring Indian link spammers at $100-$200 per month - the very same people who got his website kicked out of Google last time he used them, which was how I started working with him in the first place.

Some people never learn, and sadly many people don't like to pay a fair price for SEO.

@ttmschine that is also true. One of the hardest things in working in SEO is the need to "educate" the clients. Of course that the challenge can be bigger in some markets then in others, but I feel that the perception of what is SEO and how important it can be is still small, that is why so many clients try to be really cheap while hiring SEO consultants.

I can get that a small company that banks a couple 1000s online tries to hustle on SEO services prices, but big players should have other perception.

I have given up my agency side of the client because you waste so much time trying to educate and convince them, you are better owning your own business or product to sell, which you can use your SEO skills to get traffic.
