Hi,

i have started making a few small aff sites and and just starting out. I have about 4 which I have on the front page of google and 1st in yahoo.. However, i'm getting no traffic. I'm still trying to figure out everything. I have just came across MS and love it! i checked my current sites and it says the max vists I can get from being 1 in google is 60...

So, it's too small and i have to look at higher traffic keywords.

What advice you would you give for this? Do a 301 re-direct on my old site (1 month old- 50 backlinks - 5 articles and 150 submissions pending) or just start again new.. ?

You need to go for new keywords... You picked very low volume ones... I will make new site....

how much weight does the domain name play?

I can change the keyword to different ones I have found higher ones which only need 1 word changed.. Do you think it's worth keeping the site and just changing it?

Keyword in domain name helps in big way... Depends upon your site if changing is better or getting all new site... can't tell you without checking it...

If Site is not ranking you might try to change your keyword because it will not affect any position... If site is new then better will be to go with keyword in domain name...

i'm 1st in yahoo and on front page in google.

My domain is 3 words and I would be looking to change the order of the last two words and add more to another.. i.e fluent - fluently for example.

That's it

Hi,
i checked my current sites and it says the max vists I can get from being 1 in google is 60...

What is this 60 ???

Is it :
- The number of EXACT match visitors per day returned by MS for you main domain keyword ?

If it's the case, it's pretty good if you can be number 1 in google. It's around 1800 U.V. per month just for your domain main keyword. If it's a buying keyword, you can get a few sales.

But if it's TOTAL of all your keywords, then it sucks and you should get new keywords (and do the KW research before doing backlinks for nothing).

Cheers,

That was the broad match.. i checked again and the exact match was something like 14.. so I have changed it to another keyword as described above so it's about 91 on exact now being number 1 in google meaning the total search that MS says is 217, which is much better :)

This is for my main keyword..

I am still to pull others in via my blog.

For an affiliate website, go for at least 100 exact for the main keyword.

Just for your information, I have a website where MS says exact search between 63 et 45 (i just changed maybe it's a seasonal variation) for my main keyword.
Use the MS SEOT to get a real idea on how many visitors you'll get (for me it's about SEOT : 18-24)

-> I rank number 1 for this keyword and I only see around 650 unique visitor each month (so the MS SEOT it actually pretty accurate)

It's not an affiliate site (I just have a few banners) it's an AdSense site.

For an affiliate site offering something that is NOT info products (meaning very small commission : 5-10%) it's really low traffic. If it's info Products with 60% commission then you could be good.

If you take a product of let's say $100 you'll make let's say $10 per commission. So with my 650 unique visitor and a conversion of 0,5% I would make about 0,5/100 x 650 x 10 = $32,5... So I wouldn't get rich with this kind of traffic...

Cheers,
