I have a Twitter account that's a couple of weeks old, I have a few tweets and followers. I want to advertise but it doesn't let me.

How old does an account have to be? What are the minimum age and minimum posts before you can advertise?

This is all legit, it's a business account, I want to spend money with them.

What do you mean by "advertise"? Are you wanting to promote your tweets directly through Twitter? Or do you mean that you want to tweet ads through PPC sites like Chacha?

Why would you want to throw your money away on Sponsored Tweets? Everyone knows it is garbage and nobody follows you/clicks through on what you are trying to sell.

    Biggest waste of marketing $$$

I can offer you a much more valuable private solution. GiftGuru is 100% right that method is a waste. If you want to give something more slick a shot, hit me up

I have a very good reason for wanting to do this, I'm not stupid, don't worry. Also, you can't put all tweets/accounts/etc in the same basket and say it's worthless for any and all content or accounts. Like I said this is a business account that publishes a specific type of content and I have a very good reason for wanting to pursue this and have precise calculations for ROI.

I just need to know how old an account has to be before it's allowed to advertise.

If you're in the US you should be able to purchase sponsored tweets for a new account. Contact Twitter directly for answers, it's their service so they will help you out.
