    hi guys,

I have been working on huge website sorta like craigslist but for something else (really obvious but never created )

I really want to start the website and believe that buying small ad space I.E. Adwords, PPC, etc will not work good. I need a huge amount of eyes on it once, so i was thinking PPV.

I want to put this out there with a bang. If anyone have experience for high exposure web start ups please feel free to shout your ideas.

    Budget - $2k-$5k per campaign.

Focus on SEO. Since you already have a model to copy from, you can use semrush to uncover what keywords they are ranking for such as craigslist. Some initial paid advertising may be required to get users to start signing up and posting. Since you are not selling anything (are you?), PPV might be the best approach.

Keep in mind craigslist might not be easy to beat so try to come up with similar keywords they are not ranking for and have decent traffic and low comp.

You could also think about advertising on facebook and some news sites with CPM but I guess this all depends on your niche.

Ever thought about on using adwords on Google and Facebook ads ? Don'forget to add tracking to be able to weed things out. By the way I do not recommend to spend the money yourself if no experience, use an experienced agency if you don't want to drop money in the waters.

Yeah man. For a site like that you need something different and ground-breaking. If it really is valuable the traffic will come without you having to pay for ads. If it sucks ads will just be a waste of money.

It's not always true. There's very good websites I know of which compared to how much peoples would like to know about 'em, are very few. just 'cause they choose to not advertise at all. In fact it's REALLY hard to get PURE organic traffic just by word of mouth and organic social shares.

Is this a market with a large forum user base? If so, consider finding the appropriate forums in those niches and contacting the owners about promotional opportunities. I've had great results in very specific niches. You can get a ton of exposure with a paid sticky thread / banner ads, and it doesn't cost nearly as much (some sites will give you a lot of exposure for even $20 a month).

If it's really valuable, work on promoting it outside of paid opportunities. Get related publications to write about you, or syndicate content to them yourself. Do press releases (ONLY if it provides a lot of value and stands a legitimate chance of getting picked up). Don't just publish those press releases -- SEND them to relevant publications, and make yourself available to answer follow-up questions -- or even for an interview.
