About 7 months ago, I had a need to redirect a site that was ranking pretty well in the serps to another site. I have since then resolved any issues and now need to remove the redirect and allow the site to start ranking well again. I have recently checked and the site has basically none of its pages indexed anymore. How do I get the home page of this site re-indexed and ranking nicely again? The site already has a TON of backlinks, I just need google to know now that I am no longer redirecting it. Is removing the redirect good enough, or should I do more? Thank you for the help!

removing the redirect should do the trick. In addition, redirect all the links from the new site to the old one.
