I had a successful porn site back in the day, "theslutbox.com" (at least successful in the eyes of a then 18 year old). I ramped up earnings to 3k a month, unfortunately the domain is taken from someone else now.
I was just 18 years old, and deleted the site out of fear due to almost 100 new DMCA requests daily, and an actual phone call to my cell phone from someone looking to sue me.
I know how to blow these sites up with traffic quickly, and how to increase earnings beyond advertising networks.

I'm surprised with how many people have a porn site, and aren't worried about DMCA.
My new plan would be to embed videos from other websites, however, that still doesn't stop me from legal action... At least I don't think so after reading here:

http://www.dmlp.org/blog/2007/sam-bayard/embedded-video-and-copyright-infringement

If someone can shed light on this or put me at ease, I'll happily begin this journey.
Also, the problem is, I target very specific Niches. I found however that there is way more DMCA requests with niche's, and you'll destroy way too much content to follow up with the requests. Not to mention that would be a full time job in itself. If some more experienced people can help me with this topic, let's get this moving!

Hi there
I recently setup a porn tube site with easyxsites.com that is a white label solution that allows you to point your own domain to them and you can import embedded vids from redtube.com and any other "sponsor" that you sign up to under their affiliate link so it keeps their hosting free (so they say) . I am getting a modest amount of traffic but no signups yet to make any money, So I am interested in how you get a ton of traffic to these sites. Please pm me!
My domain is well aged picked up from domaingraveyard.com with a lot of back-links and watermarked vids that were done by the previous owner so I don`t think it is my responsibility.
It might help you to do the same as this way you are not responsible for ownership issues.
I also have a webcam site on a similar basis using webcamwiz.com but it has proved to be a total waste of time even though I get a ton of visits to their "sign up" page but no money! probably a total scam that uses hardworking people to generate traffic but they don`t pay out..
Hope this helps mate..

Still looking for a reliable answer on whether I can embed a video to my site and have no legal action against me.

DCMA gives limited protection. Unfortunately copyright laws and the internet are just not compatible and although DCMA tries to protect bloggers it is not 100% iron clad.

If you post links, pictures or videos then you face the possibility of copyright infringement.

Personally I think the infringement should go against the person who uploaded it onto the web. So if you downloaded and reuploaded it then its you, but if you link via an embed code or inline link then it should be the person who uploaded it to that site.

Responding to all DCMA notices generally keeps you in the clear though but there is always some bastard who wants to sue to make some easy cash.

Thanks for the helpful response.
Yeah the problem was, it would literally be a full time job to take care of every dmca request, and honestly destroy my content.
Because niche sites are pretty much the only membership sites that can still earn money, dmca is heavily requested. Especially once I started dominating the search engines...
Not sure what I should do, because yeah you could get away with it for a while, but when I get to the top, I could get in some trouble. Not sure I want to live with that daily fear again.

I would suggest not to do it then as it wouldn't be worth the stress on you.

I would be interested to know how you got your traffic going so well though. Any chance you could provide the steps you took either here or via PM.

Thanks.

I thought my reply offered you a possible solution to your question of DMCA repercussions maybe I missed something here!

I am super intrigued as to how you get such a lot of traffic to your site. That is valuable info that people would probably pay for so maybe that is what you should shoot for...Just saying!

Well here is some interesting information which I found while searching about copyright embedded youtube videos.
It might apply to your question:

<I can't post links>

These tend to suggest using embedded code is now ok. The links basically said that using embed code available from the hosting site covers you. If you create your own embed code then your not so safe.
