    Hello,

there's more and more of those Adult Streaming Sites out there ( like youporn , xnxx, jizzonline etc ) . Some are scams ( basically endless chains of links ) but some - like for example xnxx - are very decent. Shitload of content, decent speed, minimum hassle ( not even registration required ), tolerable ads, and even appear virus-free ( although I am not using Windows so what do I know ) .

That makes me wonder: where's the money here? The costs of running a real-time streaming site with hundreds of thousands of videos must be very considerable, I can't believe those few ads pay for it?

    Yeah, the ads pay.

Think about the ads. Male enhancement, find local girls, premium memberships.

The traffic is already insanely targeted. There are more than enough insecure people who watch porn that will click on the ads and make a purchase.

I'm sure that some sites also work some sort of deal with major studios to offer free/preview/older clips with their logo (br4zz3r5).

The trick is to offer something "free," but as we know from studying economics, nothing is "free"

Also, it must be said: More than enough, more than you could IMAGINE, do actually pay for porn and buy from free sites. This was one of my motivations for going into IM: People WILL give you their money. Nobody that you know of buys this stuff you see, but if you ever get a chance to look at revenue statements or subscriptions, the numbers will boggle your mind. The market is absolutely out there. Billions on the internet. We don't appreciate the number enough, billions.

They rely on ads from whitehat advertisers.

Pornhub and Tube8 for example are ran on sites such as Trafficjunky[.]com where users purchase multiple ad spaces and pay per 1,000 impressions.

That is where all the $ is.

Strange. I would have sworn that the costs of terabytes of transfer and a farm of servers to run a site like youporn would quickly overwhelm you. Not to mention they have to get content. Hundreds of thousands of videos.

The traffic is indeed very targeted, but why would other, paid pornsites advertise themselves on something like youporn? Seems to me you're basically cannibalizing your own business this way.

Sites like pornhub, xhamster etc makes money from ads like mentioned above but they also make money from affiliate networks liKE STREAMATE THEY ALLOW YOU TO run a whitelabel camsite and you get paid per signup or revenue share depending on what you sign up for.

I've been working for an online porn company back in 2007. I had access to their ads website, with infos to login. And all i could say was WOW; they were making a huge amount of money out of visits. With about 10 websites they were close to $12,000 a day. Most of the revenue came from paid membership on external websites

Why did you quit working there?
Why not copy them and start small, you certainly got some expirience while working for them?

Not really actually. They wanted to do some promotions accross europe, so I helped them with that, but in 2007 I was still studying so I quickly gave up (I was also involved in some ponzi scheme making me huge amount) .

The server they had was huge, and the websites were established in 2003. It involves alot of budget to start.

Actually I am a mobile programmer, I don't know diddly squat about IM. Now I am looking at my next mobile app - and the potential idea is to write some mobile gateway to those sites.

My philosophy is that for a business to be successful, everyone has to profit from it - so the customers will get the free wank right off their iThing; I will get some ad revenue and the Streaming Site - well, they also have to have something in it ( I don't want to do it behind their back because they would quickly see traffic from some unknown mobile app , change the API and cut me off ).

So the idea is to approach them. But first I need to understand their business model.
