Adult Site Optimization

Hello All,

Ok...So I have an adult site, have some keywords in mind, but don't quite know how to get the name out there. What are the best resources available to spread the word about adult sites. IS BUM marketing a possibility? Link Submissions? OR are there other ways to promote these types of sites.

Also, any other resources would help. Im looking for any software and/or ebook that might point me in the right direction

I have a few my self..
The best way to build traffic fast.. Is to do use a trade script and track all your links productivity to see where surfers are clicking the most..

The more clicks.. there more your trade script can send out hits to your trades.

The site will grow fast..

Some more ideas:
sign onto adult forum webmasters boards in your niche and trade links. You can submit to directories if you wish, although people debate this tactic. Check out this link for a good adult directory dump.


These bastards require a linkback, although they allow for a-b-c linking. (i realize this type of stuff is 2005, but it still provides results for low lying fruit search terms in the adult industry)

You can also dump your links on social bookmarking sites (there are a number designed just for adult industry)

One of the issues with adult sites is that you have to get creative with marketing. Long gone are the days of easy money.

I have a pretty simple $0 (until you get rolling)cost process I use to set up new sites and get traffic. It's slow, but you build lists of horny mo fo's

1. I set up throw away accounts on Yahoo, Google, Hotmail.
2. Join niche pic trade groups on those networks
3. I post relevant niche pics and vids to the group for a while
4. collect emails of active posters
5. set up my own groups.
6. post lots to my group (sponsor FHG pages mostly)
7. Invite to my group and put my group link in my posts to other groups. You'll also get lots of walkins.
8. Start posting to trading forums
9. set up free blogs. I only post with content from sponsors that have feeds, or if i see that something I posted in a forum, group or torrent got lots of traffic.
9. upload sponsor video sample. remember to tag it with your blog url, or at minimum your highest member group.
10. save the lists. this is where the gold lies. You can market all kinds of crap to them using another identity or your own
11. TEST! TEST! TEST! This has worked for me, but until you try it, you have no idea what kind of results you'll have. Fold, spindle and mutilate this plan as you see fit. make it work. And get creative.

Years ago I did the grind in the adult market. I made bank. Then the game changed. I came back and I'm doing well with the plan above. But it's just one of the projects I do to make money.

It's not fast money but its steady. Sponsors provide so much free FHG stuff out there that I have more than I can use in one day. I can get through all my group posting in about an hour once that is done. It may take a while get get it going. But once it does, it's gravy. I also put out free stuff on my blog (full videos, etc) that is easy for the user to just get. I also take requests and email my list and groups when I post free shit. It's like a tidal wave on those days.

Then you have all the other marketing stuff you can do. But it all starts coming together once you have your blog. Each one of my niche specific blogs generate an easy $1000 to $5000 a month, sometimes more. Basically for just sending out emails for a minimum of 1-2 hours a day. but it took time to get it going.

I could do better, but I'm lazy. But now that I have cash rolling in and free time, I'm going to set up my own domain per niche and drive traffic to that. I already have blogs all over the place that will give me links. I just have to get off my ass and not get distracted by all the other project ideas I have.

In this plan, I never pay for hosting, never pay for content and I developed a list of customers that actually buy shit. Go figure . But it's all in that list building in this model. It's all about the numbers. Getting new people everyday and building the list and back selling. If you hit the right niche, you'll do well

this sounds excellent. Granted a lot of hard work, but a great way to build quality traffic. I have some specific question on what exactly some things are. If you would answer them i'd greatly appreciate that.

1)What are trading forums? Trading what, pics or something else, could you post an example.

Where are you uploading this sponsor sample to? Your blog? I'm a bit confused because I took sponsors with feeds to mean you were using splogs (autofed blogs from the sponsor). I got confused here.

Also you say 'save the lists' . . . which lists? the email lists you gathered earlier from number 4, or something else?

Finally, you say you spend 1-2 hours posting emails. Can't you just automate the posting with a specific message? I'm a bit lost on what exactly you spend your time emailing. Emailing that you have more content up on 'said' blog, or that you found a new sponsor, etc.

If you could clarify this post a bit more it would be greatly appreciated

here are some quick answers

I post the sponsor stuff everywhere I can(read your TOS from the sponsor first before doing this. they will ban you). Torrents, forums (yes pic and video trade. Go*ogle "free porn forum") and more than a a few you tube clones.
For example re*dtube allows you to post watermarked videos (that is what I meant by tagging) I also stumble porn everything I post h**p://stumble*porn.c*m/

Yes I harvest the lists from all my members, especially active posters (they tend to spend money) I use those lists for email campaigns and to upsell them on stuff. But you really need a constant influx of new blood in order to be successful at the upsell.

I treat all lists and customers the same. Porn just happens to be the product that brought them in, but I routinely post stuff that I'm just giving away.
I hold contests, surveys ("Is Jenna too thin now?" where I make a commission). Specials deals on niche specific products and services outside of the regular porn.Some works, some falls flat. You have to test based on your niche and culture of the group

I can automate the emails, but I take the FHG page and post it to my group.
I modify it a bit , but it's basically the same FHG page that the sponsor sends out. Basically I'm just cutting and pasting it into an HTML based email that I then send to the group.


At the end of the day I'm a marketer. Porn just happens to be one of the things I market. It could just as easily be golf clubs. So to me that list is all I need.

Also worth noting, if you email your list some spammy stuff outside of the group, use another email. Always keep your role as the group owner separate.
In some groups, I don't let anyone post unless they request it. And I keep a tight reign. In others, those that don't post once per week, I prevent from posting at all. I also delete any account that spams. I also always approve membership.
