This is not my site just someone I am looking to help out. I've never done adsense so I have no idea how it works.

He told me his friends spammed his adsense accounts and the G banned him.

What should he do? Is there anything he can do?

Appeal it to google, and if that fails he can use adbrite instead.

Open another account under a family member or friend. Don't put the adsense on the same website though!

Once banned Google very rarely let you back in the program!

Every time I make a new adsense account it gets banned as soon as I put it up on a site. I've heard changing the address a bit, like st. instead of street, and changing your name to a nickname will work but I have had no success. Google is really harsh once you're banned. If he hasn't put in his SSN he should be fine but if he did I'm sure it's blacklisted now.

The easiest option is to just go with another PPC company.

Are websites permanently banned? Or if someone buys the website they could get ad sense approved?

He can try to appeal, provide server logs (for example) highlighting when his friends spam (and what he will do to prevent such things in the future), but if that fails there are other ways to make money. As others mentioned, though, Google can be harsh. There are a lot of other PPC out there, although depending on the type of site Amazon can work well.
