Addon domains and primary domains in HOSTGATOR question...

theres no advantages/disadvantages if you're using addon domains correct? they act EXACTLY like a primary/main domain would act, except addon domains are in a different folder?
they can still rank #1 for keywords as a primary domain would right?

The add-on domains are exactly like the main domains. The outside world,
i.e. search engines etc don't see above the public_html for your add-on domain.

It's indexed like any other

so google would see it as just another site, (even though google knows its from the same IP address [the same hosting panel])?

what do you mean it wont see above the public_html?

and so addon and primary domains are pretty much the same thing?
be indexed the same way?
make money equally?
generate traffic equally?
