Hi I found the perfect keyword for a site but its taken. Would adding x to the end of it affect it in ranking?

this has been asked a few times if you search around you can find a thread for your exact question.

however I wanted to post just to give you this thread.. it doesn't answer your exact question but it has some good tips when picking a domain that you should read over.

read the whole thing.. but take notice to these 4 topics especially for choosing a domain.

I'd guess so lol. Why would testx.com beat text.com?

Only by adding "s" at the end, this will work in most situations.

it doesn't really matter as long as there is on page seo and backlinking

There's a site in my niche, and he has an "x" at the end of the domain. He's ranking just fine.

It's ok but it needs more work and good backlinks, tried that many times.

After doing some research people have said that adding a letter like X, or V wont make a difference because Google treats it like an exact match domain but if you add an s,or y or some other letter that could change the meaning of the word, that does affect it.

Yeah it should be fine actually. And everyone here basically covered the rest. Make sure you have your backlinks and seo work done.

no , adding x,y,z at end or start of EMD will NOT affect your rankings

But it's STILL not as good as the EMD itself. Lets make that much clear.

The domain itself wouldn't be neglected, just do adequate SEO
and make sure to have both fresh and rich content.

Adding a letter means that is is no longer an EMD, but a keyword domain. Cu.tt$ has said EMDs help with rankings.
