Adding "Shopping Card" or Ecommerce to site

    hey guys

    Didnt know where to ask this, but i need to add Ecommerce to a hotel site. (wordpress) what do i need?

    - SSL cert?
    - ????
    - Who should i use to process the payment? (mostly Credit cards for booking rooms)

    ssl is beneficial if you're processing them in house (plus it helps with rankings) However you can use paypal and/or Amazon card services. Both have free plugins for wordpress. Woocommerce is your friend

    Thanks so much - didnt think of amazon card services. If i use these service - then i dont need SSL correct?

    You don't NEED SSL unless you're sending CC details from your website to a payment processor. So, if a person is entering CC details into a box on your website, you NEED SSL. However, you should have it anyway and make it site-wide.

    In my opinion you need SSL certificate.It will be safer for you.

    Are you capturing any personal details (name, address, credit card, etc.)?

    If so, you need to have an SSL certificate otherwise you will have clients skip your website all together as they will see it as insecure.
