Adding dropshipped products alongside my own brand's product, bad idea?

I only sell one branded superfood product on my website, which I hold and ship out myself. Tbh I need to make more money because the margins are only about £4/sale so I'm looking at adding more products.

However, do you think it will be a bad idea to add dropshipped products to my brand's website?

I've heard that dropshipping from Aliexpress brings a lot of issues like lost mail or late deliveries, would it be worth it to risk my brand with my customers?

What if somebody orders my own brand product (which only takes a couple of days to arrive) plus a dropshipped product (which could take 20-30days to arrive)?

You can buy products in bulk and then sell it under your website. If you care about your brand reputation. Otherwise you can dropship, its a good idea OP.

The idea of me dropshipping is to see if a product will sell first, then if it does I'll buy in bulk and sell under my own brand's name. Do you have a method of finding out if a product is popular and not that competitive?

I am with @splishsplash1 I'd order once, test the product and the service and if things work well, then I'll do a little investment. And little by little I'd be increasing my bulk purchases. Dropshipping on the other hand has less risks, but profit margins will be better with the first option

That good idea, for searching products you can try fb ads spy tool, tons of other methods.

If you are really bothered with your brand reputation, you can focus with that. Or you can also build another site for your dropshipping business. :)

That's a good idea but I wouldn't know how to get traffic to a new site to people will buy. The only way I get traffic to my current site is through social media at the moment.

I would build social media as my base, for the long run.
If you have some budget to spare, you could run some FB ads for example.

Yeah its hard to bring traffic. For that you also have to spend for the campaigns to get traffic. It may be like a start from scratch (like how you started also your current site) but that will surely give you a good response later. :)
