Okay, so one on of my websites, I left the default header. By default, it's just text in the header (I put my main keyword).

I have a custom header I want to replace the default one with, but here is my concern..it won't have the text with my keyword, which would be..a negative SEO factor, right?

How can I change the headers without having any negative SEO effect?

Yeah, exactly, that's my concern. And yeah, it is an image.

What sort of header is it? Image? I think the main issue is that you want a H1 tag on your page with your main keyword in. And you want it near to the top of the page.

Depends what header your putting in, and how much coding you can do...

So you have a few options:

1.Fit a H1 somewhere below the image header.

2.float the H1 over the image.

3.keep the H1 with text but then use the image as a background for the H1 tag and hide the text using CSS - don't know if that's aloud and if google will notice though..??

Thanks bro! I think I'm gonna go with #2, but I think you mean float the image header above the h1, right?
