Yeah but which converts more? I think that add to cart doesn't pressure visitors while buy now does. However the latter converts more. Again, this is what I think but I have no hard data. I'm wondering if anybody has tried AB testing this? Or maybe it's case by case.

I doubt it will make much of a difference, unless you're cashing in big sums.

You should focus on more important stuff. ;) After all, you can always split test it by yourself if you think it will make difference.

It depends on the context, what type of products are being sold, etc.

If you're mostly expecting single-product orders you should definitely use the "buy now" button, otherwise "add to cart" wold make more sense.

Best thing to do is run a split test yourself, just like Amazon does where they spend millions of dollars to tweak every little setting. If you don't want to split test, just see how Amazon handles it.

I would recommend add to cart.

    Thanks!

I'm testing this on my eBook offer this week. I think your conversions will vary drastically, video sales offering with cartoon play or just a plain
content sales offering through a blog. I'll be split testing Amazon.com light orange colors and same 'buy' rectangles with "Buy Now" button and split testing it just to see if it gives a boost for my membership service just to see how association with Amazon works here as well. Surprise I didn't test this before, but
again, I think it'll depend on your market OP, don't think it'll make a big difference but worth a test I think.
