    Hey there,

one of my projects (based on Wordpress) needs "upgrated" external links: I want to add a frame in the header to entice visitors to either come back to the site or subscribe to my mailing list. Also it would be nice to have the possibility to add exit popups, like you can on a regular blog article or page.

Now I don't know if the later is possible but I've definitely seen this frame on the top, for example on Adf*.ly (why is the board censoring this?!) or other link shortening services.

Iframes for links, iframes in general and exit popus were good in 2009. Now, these are old-dated techniques which Google really hates now. So consider not using such stuff if you will be counting on organic traffic from Google.

We're talking about the kind of pseudo-popups you can see almost everywhere, even on established marketing blogs or sales pages such as PureVPN.com, and the iframes are vital for the sites marketing.

Also the main traffic strategy is not SEO but viral marketing.
