I just posted a thread about this too. I am confused with your opinion, do you even want to make money with websites? Like...adsense...affiliate links...banners...? Because they are blocked when you have adblock active and you get zero money.
Also, you can disable that new rule with ONE CLICK on the link that is on that annoucement.
My only question is if adsense is considered "safe" as will be on.

They are all for none intrusive advertising.

Banners and bullshit will still be blocked, but for example the sidebar adverts on reddit have never been blocked. They are not intrusive, they don't distract you... they are adverts done right.

They are against bad advertising in horrible distracting unfriendly places, not good adverts.

Great monetization strategy for adblock. Knew this was the route they were going to take.

    µBlock is good one.

    ---
I don't see anything bad with AdBlock being sold. From regular internet user perspective there always will be some alternative and from internet marketer perspective this is good news

Sadly, I started seeing Google Ads everywhere with AdBlock activated. Time to change the extension!

Seems fine. If they take it too far there will always be someone willing to create a replacement.

people wouldn't have starting using adblockers if it wasn't for so much bullshit. Even some popunders are still okay. Its just so many not only over do it, but use horrible fucking ads. So many use ones with the fake PC health/FBI warning that make you have to use task manager to close browser down.

The dirty truth is that Adsense will never be unblocked, no matter what Google does or pays because Adsense appears on so many sites and in order to provide value, they need to block the majority of ads, which means blocking the Adsense network to ensure that users don't see ads on the majority of sites.

If they were to unblock Adsense, users would avoid the plugin as they would start to see ads on most sites they visit and would feel that the plugin isn't working and likely switch to a competitor plugin.

For those who think that adblockers are a bad thing for business. If the people like them soooo much is just because they hate to see too many advertisements. Those who install an adblocker are not likely to buy in that way... "Damm it, this adblocker is not blocking the ads...Oh look an ad, I'm going to buy that thing"... There is always a chance to get new clients in a not annoying way.
