Actually we are Souls within ourselves.

You are control, command the computer what to do , means you are the " Soul " to the computer , some will say , yea is like Software .

Imaging now back to us human, our body just a system, Our Soul control all the organs within our body " a computer "
Our Soul give instructions to the Brain which is the CPU in our body.

The difference is that consciousness is a scientifically-provable concept - we obviously have a consciousness because we are conscious of what is happening and of ourselves within the world.

A "soul" is an unprovable construct. If someone said your soul is the essence of who you are and that it is somewhere else, then you would have to be able to navigate to where this other place is and take other people there.. or at least they would have had to have gone there independently as well.

This can't happen, so a "soul" is just as real as the alien god of scientology, Xenu, that was created by a science fiction writer.

If people mean that your soul is the core of who you are.. there's no reason for that to be anything other than a description of whatever neurological mechanism(s) is/are responsible for our personalities.
