Something just occurred to me while I was lowering all my items to cost price or even losses just so that I could boost my sales up and try and get more feedbacks.

I've been able to nearly quadruple my sales in the past week alone because of my under cost pricing strategy (which will only be temporary because I can't keep taking a 50 cent loss per transaction).

It started to occur to me, what if there is more usefulness or benefit to doing this? I may not be making any profit for now because I lowered everything to below cost price to make more sales, but maybe I can benefit by all the new emails/phone numbers I'll have access to from the increased number of buyers?

Can anyone suggest how I can use this email list/phone numbers list with ideas in marketing or funneling traffic? I know less about what to do with phone numbers but if I'm not mistaken I believe nowadays with phone apps like wechat, whatsup, kakao, line, viber, facebook messenger, can't one use these phone numbers to auto add them to my account on the phone and send them ads/emails? Because on my phone, I sometimes receive from random numbers texts or messages trying to promote or sell something to me and I don't know who the person is or how they got my number but they succeeded in sending me an ad lol.

Sorry if this walking a little too close to the edge...if this is in violation of something, sorry for asking and please delete it. I'm just not sure because a few days ago I had posted a basic question about craigslist and it was removed/deleted and I was told it was not allowed (sorry, and I had no idea you can't talk about CL here!). Just want to make sure.

You cannot really do that direct through ebay.

But you could set up a funnel where you drive traffic through, get their email and end on ebay.

I do a variation of that.

Happy to show you if you like.

Isn't there a cheaper way to get feedback than this by the way? Surely someone is selling ebay feedback? If not well there is an idea.

You can grab there emails and use custom audience to market your product on Facebook ads. Just an idea.

You can use mobile numbers & emails for ad targeting (etc), but randomly contacting people via. Text/email without their permission/specific opt-in , walks a fine line I believe, you'll also need an opt-out option per message so they can unsubscribe, after they manually opt-in

Is that safe? Is it really proven to work and be safe? I guess I wouldn't mind paying a little if it really is an effective, proven, reliable way, but if there is healthy risk of getting suspended by ebay, then I'd rather not.

As for the other ideas, I will have to research it more. I don't know what is "ad targeting". I only know about the basic methods like mass spamming emails with my promo code/referral code to try and convert a sign up or sale to get a small commission.

In the past I had tried something similar but the email provider (gmail) easily detected that I was sending too many emails to too many people or that I was attaching an ad (I just photoshopped my own advertisement like, "Join Free! Sign up today and save!" etc and I sent it out to like 500 emails (about 50 at a time) and then emailing privileges got revoked or something for a while or it would no longer send my email out as it somehow knew it was spam or advertising.

Also interesting to note is that ebay now only allows the buyer's email to be visible for i think 15 days after date of purchase. Beyond that, it's no longer visible in the history but the phone numbers are still visible and there ! What does that mean? Emails are more valuable to ebay than phone numbers???? Confused.

I always used a personal note in the package to follow my IG -> email, call me etc. not sure of how to get contact info through a sale info alone but since I mostly dealt with resellers I had a high rate of replies to my personal notes. I would basically say I’m willing to negotiate and cut the eBay PayPal middle man out

and who still actually uses hotmail? Half of all the emails I'm getting from these buyers are on hotmail email accounts LOL. Isn't that like 20 years ago? I don't think paypal/ebay requires you to update your personal info LOL.
