After about 6 months of lots and lots of linking, I have achieved the number 2 spot on Google for my chosen keyword. I would love to be number one, but the keyword is a product name, and I doubt I am going to be able to outrank their site

At this point, I would like to start working on getting another site ranked too, but I don't want to get complacent and have someone come in and knock me off. So my question is, how much backlinking should I continue to do to keep the site where it is? Would a daily scrapebox blast do the trick?

It depends on what niche you are competing in. If it's a smaller niche, you can get away with no seo or a small amount of seo and keep it's original ranking.

Update your site with fresh content frequently. I'd run a small linkbuilding campaign every month or two, but I'd make content my priority.

If your competition is not so high, having regular natural backlinks + Unique content daily is already good.

the main factor is if your competitors are building links or not.

When i got keyword without competitors doing links i usually stay 1-3 months without building any links.

Just BL on a faster pace then your competition. Dont know or dont want to do the research? Just do a simple backlink cycle once a week will do the trick untill you notice that you drop.
