I just registered a new acct in AC and was able to publish for upfront pays. Weird, I had to only confirm my paypal, no phone was needed? Has it been taken down or am I still non-verified?

Hello,

I think A*C is getting smarter right now. This is a new way so every newbie who wants to publish articles on A*C doesn't have to verify his account via US phone number. But I really wonder if anyone of you who has verified your account via Pay*Pal. Does it work for a long term? Is it dangerous to verify our Pay*Pal account via A*C? Will A*C pay our pending payments if we don't verify our Pay*Pal account? I wonder it's just a new trick from A*C to block A*C multiple accounts. Unfortunately, Redtide is not with us anymore :(.

Please give your response if you've experienced something strange with this new method of verification. Thanks a lot before :).

Same here!

Didn't have to confirm using my phone number, but I had to confirm through payapl

This change is effective for all AC accounts, and is designed to lock down on people using on multiple emails paying to the same Paypal account. The confirmation page says PP will be sharing the name and email of the PP ACCOUNT with AC. So now only one PP account can be used for a AC account.

This also means AC may be able to know if the root PP account is US based or not. Non-US people may have to concentrate now on getting a US based PP account (verified or unverified) to continue using AC.

Well, has anybody used unverified paypal accounts for AC payments? If so its good, else its a PITA to verify each and every email we use in paypal :(

if this is true, AC will lose all outsourcers, and will eventually lead to the death of the website

sad. don't understand why they are so greedy, they make 10 times the amount we make off the article, but still, that's not good enough for them.

Go figure.

No it will just mean non-US foreigners will have a harder time gaming AC with multiple accounts. It won't have any effect for US writers.

Yes i already posted about me not selling ac pvas anymore but still thanking to all people who bought from me. If you need US paypal i can provide for $20.:)

From reds thread I see that payments are sent to non-US paypal.
I believe we are seeing things completely wrong here :p
Maybe AC went easy on the pva's and want more writers in with just confirming their paypal. It wouldn't be easy for AC to verify the names and geo of paypal accounts, and I doubt they will ever send each and every payment manually. just my 2 cents..

When I was doing epns, I remember having a whole bunch of emails under one non-US paypal and never had a problem doing that. If Ebay can be that easy with paypal, AC should be too.

Im going to test this with a few accounts so that we can have a clear understanding why AC dropped the pvas. :p

what makes you think that PayPal does not pass geographic info back to AC?
I called PayPal- they said they don't. It may also be illegal unless they tell you first- it does so "by verifying paypal account with AC you are giving persmission to show them your name"

I think you can use non US paypal accounts. But you cannot use it for a long run though.
You can use maximum for 1 month. Bcs paypal check the PP emails once a month. So thats it. Try create a PP with the same name in AC account. Fake name and details. So you will not be traced back. PP can only give ur PP acc details not the details regarding ur transaction. Once u close account all transactions details are lost only ur details will be stored in the database.

I agree with Georgesmith.
I am using a non US based paypal and have submitted an article. Awaiting the results to see if they are paying out or not.

Strangely, before also, I never had phone verification and yet I have been paid out without any problems.

Ive only ever used non-us paypal a/c and its never been a problem. Try sending money to another PP account for services and you'll see that the only information you will see is the receiver's name and email, that's it.
I don't see why you'd have to swap and change email addresses if using one pair AC a/c
