Because you are not really allowed to use copyright names in domain names - the idea being that you are going to profit (Not neccesarily in terms of money, but benefit in any way) from the association that your visitors will have with that brand name.

If you want to submit it to Google in terms of adsense / adwords / webmaster tools then they are probably going to flag that up and even if you are not doing any of that, it it receives any meassure of success and is noticed by Google they will again probably flag it up / send you a letter requesting you take it down.

It really depends on a) your reasoning behind it and b) your intended longevity of this project.

I dont think it matters what permutation of a brand you use IF it is reasonable to beleive that you are refering to a brand and that you are profiting from that association then its a problem. So if you use Googl and you are a search engine then you are certainly infringing copyright laws.

If its a short term project it might not even matter because you might not get noticed, but if its a long term project then its just pointless even if you "think" you might be ok, because it will undoubtedly come back and kick you in the ass when you dont need it.

By suing you and going to court for breaking their copyright. It's not a really good idea.

You don't want to mess with Google and their trademarks etc.

Over the years I've lost 7 or 8 domains to copyright and/or trademarks and one of them was google's. All the others didn't make me sweat but when Google came knocking I was a tad concerned as they have no soul and would gladly hit you for a kajillion dollars in a lawsuit for using their name without their permission.

Move on to your next idea.

Please, don't border. They'll go any length to ensure that they get it back. Copyright issues does bring nothing but headaces

Agreed with the majority of replies here. Not worth the risk of copyright issues; that goes for using any trademarked company's name in your domain name.

Definitely not worth doing, if your lucky in the short term you will earn some money. But if google finds out that your profiting you will be sued and/or threatened to be sued and they will take down your site.
