I am still shocked about what people are saying about their autoblogs

    1. scrape some content
    2. slap it to a blog
    3. Get it indexed
    4. do nothing else
    5. receive some organic traffic
    6. rinse/repeat on massive scale

I still don't understand how you can receive organic traffic when you have done nothing to promote it, no link building, nothing. Because you use duplicate content, you would be so far down the SERPs that nobody would ever find the page. Somebody enlighten me please.

Chances are some of the pages you scrape will be in a niche that has little to no competition.

Thus, instant ranking for that particular longtail.

Yea autoblogs are all about longtail traffic, and good SEO work at it and hope to hit a winner.

Everything you need to know is on the forums. No one is here to spoon feed you the exactly technique they use or hold your hand through the process.

I'll give you three points of advice:

    1. Don't *assume* that everyone would be so far down the SERPs because they have some duplicate content on their blogs, that's an incorrect assumption.
    2. There are many ways of acquiring backlinks without manually link building
    3. There are more ways to get traffic than Google.

Think about that, and come back with some more specific questions after you know what you're talking about.

IMO most of the time content is spinned, synonimized or so. In such case there is no duplicate content at all. Offen (Always) autoblogs use RPC pings, autosubmit news to social networks accounts, rss director and more. There is some promotion going in the background but it is automated also.

Thanks for the "spoonfeeding" everyone ,

however the question had nothing to do with how to make them, only how to they avoid search engine oblivion. Now I see its more a roulette strategy. Build enough (i.e. bet on) blogs and hope you dig out a couple winners that can out rank their originals. Am I right?

Some of it also has to do with combining info from different sites, so you end up ranking better for the long tail keywords. For instance, if your trying to rank for the word Sasquatch. Well if most sites only have 1 or 2 articles about them on their site, but I put together a site that has 10-15 articles about it from 5 to 10 different sites, now I can rank higher for that word, because I simply have more content about that, thus I rank better...

Also, as I recall there is an article on here that lays out why duplicate content really isn't a big problem... I'll see if I can find that...

    Found it, http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackh...-get-wso-google-value-maximizer-concepts.html

Enjoy, it's worth a read, he lays out not only theory, but actually gives real examples...
