I find many long tail keywords using a Google Suggest scraper. Then I put all the list in the Google Keyword Tool but for most of them there are no monthly search data (the hyphen appears instead of the numbers). Is there any method to determine if they are valuable anyway?

Well, if they don't get any traffic then they have no value. But then you might get some traffic from other search engines, still look for good ones.

I don't think a KW with no monthly search data will be any good - means no one is searching for them.

Don't be fooled by this. First, check them all with the Traffic estimator tool (a different tool in your adwords account). Even if it doesn't say anything, try to figure it out if the longtail has any potential meaning and that it could actually be searched for by real people.

From my own experience, I found such a longtail and built a Squidoo page around it. I put high quality content out there (It's an Amazon phrase). The searches are only something like 30/month, but I get 20 highly targeted visitors per day and I make around $200/month from Amazon, just from this small page. I don't even have to mention that the competition is zero, do I? Because nobody thinks it's worth pursuing.

Check it out on semrush and if there's still no data... move on

I agree, even kw with very little visitors per month can make money. Once you target the right KW

LT keywords usually don't have any good search volume.
There is no way to get volume for Longtail keywords.

Google keyword tool data can be completely inaccurate, just to let you know...

There is more money on long tail keywords than on main ones.

In other words, the volume of search actualy come from long tails.
