What is Domain Flipping?

A domain flip is when you buy a domain as cheaply as possible and resell it to another person at a higher price. How To Start Domain Flipping process:

Flipping domain names can be profitable, but it's not guaranteed and depends on the demand for the domain name. Here are a few things to consider:

It's called gambling. You have better odds of hitting something with roulette.
Been doing it since the 90s. Have sold many domains. Have not sold 20x as many.
Am I profitable on it? Yes but only because I started buying in the 90s and sold some in the mid 2000s. Almost everything since then is just treading water, no out of park six figure sales anymore.

I've tried it with no success - I think because it boils down to increasing traffic to an existing domain, and selling the domain name for a profit, which is not the most effective way of monetizing the traffic you created in my opinion, and the gain on the domain name alone is not much. If you're going to put an effort into generating traffic you might as well have a more comprehensive monetization strategy. That said I do have an acquaintance who made some money creating domain names with brands that were unused (e.g., a non claimed .us or country code for a brand with an existing .com).
