    Hey guys,

As i have a page called ABC (having so many sub pages) is now renamed with XYZ and redirects all the pages(URLs) of ABC to XYZ page(URL).. now when someone comes to my ABC page will automatically redirects to XYZ page.. but while i check my GWT it shows me duplicate title, description and content for the same page ABC which redirects to XYZ. So can any one tell me why it is so and how i can come out from this duplicate issue?

what if i disallow /abc page in robots.txt ? dose it harm my xyz page as abc page redirect to xyz!!

any help will be appreciate. Thank You.

If you're redirecting with a 301 flag and not 302, the search engines will remove the abc page from their index.
But it may take some time to do so.
Preventing bots from crawling the page (robots.txt) will not remove the page from their index, especially if there are links pointing to the page. After a while, if the page abc still appears in the index, you should add to the page the 'noindex' metatag.
