When buying links for sites that really matter to you (you can't afford to lose them or screw them up) buy only from providers that you've already tried and saw the overall results. I'm always tracking my results from my own PBNs and the PBNs links that I've purchase.

After tracking hundreds of keywords for tens of different sites for more than a year I can tell you that getting backlinks from particular sites can fu*k up your site unrepairably, the anchor ratios and other BS doesn't matter in this case, you can link with your domain anchor name or use simple anchor as "click here" the fact is that the sites themselves are "infected".

The infection can depend on a lot of factors, they are not 100% given. The charastestics can include:

Were used as a pbn before.
Links to casinos, pharma, gambling.
Has hundreds of OBLs to shitty sites.
Spammed links pointing to the site.
Spammy anchor texts.
etc.

Be aware, read reviews and take precautions to not screw your sites that you care about.

Sounds like solid advise to me. And its well worth being over cautious when you are working with sites that you cant really afford to F up.

If its just a niche site then its not such a problem of course.

I think a lot of people that are new to SEO and come to BHW are not aware of this though - I have been similarly burned in the past when I was just learning about SEO as well.

Good advice. Anyone who's buying links (black of white hat) has to be aware of the risks. In my experience as long as you try to do the right thing, you can do a lot :)

I always make sure I go through the below steps but 2-3 pointers you mentioned seemed new to me.

Another pointer:
#Spun shit on the PBNs, that is way more worse and will not get you the link juice.

I have seen people still thinking that, that do not make a difference, well you just need to see the developments in Artificial Intelligence to know where Google might be standing on this issue and laughing away at us. OR better yet check the patents applied for by Google.

Maybe in the future it will have an impact.

I operate "pharma" site and I only do white hat. So am I low now because it is pharma site? Same goes for everything else....

I was using the same backlink provider for 7 months and he switched up on me and fucked up my site.

My advice: build your own
