    So I want to add a banner to the top of a website (a website that I want to promote my affialiate code on, so while people browse when they go to buy they use my code).

    I initially did this buy creating a page with two iframes, my banner on the top iframe and the rest of the site on the other iframe. The problem is since there are 2 iframes and not 1, they must have fixed height, which could cause some problems in streamlined and normal naviagation of the original website.

    When they saw me do this, I got a legal letter in the mail saying that my website is containing their website enclosed in a limited iframe, and is not allowed.

    So I'm wondering is there a way to add another like pop over banner or something that will just always appear at the top while the user browses?

    I was contemplating using the mirror website code I saw around here by first coding so my image appears and then the site is mirrored but I dont think this would work with the code as its just to mirror a site completely normally, can someone suggest anything smarter I'm not thinking of?

    Not quiet sure I know why you are trying to achieve this but as you are going BH anyway:

    Copy the site: view source, save as HTML.
    Then edit the HTML to put your banner in or change links to your affiliate link, or whatever.

    Then upload to your server.

    Stay away from frames man. They are deprecated in web design. You will get hurt in SEO and other ways. It is best to use compliant code if your looking for rankings. As for the banner, when you have a site with a header you can define space there with css and insert your banner ad.

    Edit: I read over again sorry i didnt realize the main frame is someone elses site.

    Why would you want to iframe a site and put a banner on the top? Is your product only tracked by a coupon code?

    using css
    Load a 100% by 100% iframe on your page
    then load your banner in a fixed position layer over the top

    what if i dont want it to be in an overlying layer, i want it to be more so like if it was a frame at the top not interfering?
